SEXUAL DIVIANCE AND ITS CONSEQUENCES

Ephesians:  6:12, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

The practice in the advertising world of using sexy models to sell any and every product is not coincidental. The advertisers have done their research and have concluded that sex can be used to sell everything.  It has been proven to be effective for selling anything from baby powder to coffins.   However, sex was instituted by God to be performed between a husband and his wife, in the privacy of their own space.  Today, this is not the practice.  There are all kinds of deviant behaviours surrounding sex.  The bible declares that there is nothing new under the sun.  It speaks about the happenings in Sodom and Gomorrah and how God eventually destroyed that city, because of the sexual immorality found there.     

In Genesis chapters 18 and 19 the story of Sodom and Gomorrah is told.  Two cities that were overrun with sexual immorality.  They wanted to engage in gang rape on the two angels who were sent to the city to escort Lot and his family out.  The price paid by the inhabitants of that city was death.  God rescued His own and rained fire from heaven on the two cities; totally destroying them.

We see that similar sins have taken over our little Island today.  There are reports of men with AIDS searching for virgins with whom to have sex as a cure for this disease; there are reports of organizations that use the blood of young children in their rituals.  There are reports of husbands and wives who engage in exchanging sexual favours with each others partners.  There are orgies where several men have sex with one woman or with men and women all in one place. 

What exactly is happening?  The scripture above tells us, our fight is not with humans, but with spiritual forces.  Satan knows that he has but a short time and so he must amass his army for the great battle against our great God and His Christ.  So the enemy of our souls has dispatched his emissaries to infiltrate the minds of individuals and groups in the society fooling them into believing that there is nothing amiss with advertising the sale of a car with two half naked individuals eating strawberries on the bonnet.   Our fashion sense now allows our women to hang their breast out of their tops; their underwear and mid-section out of what should be covering the lower section of their bodies.  Nothing is left to the imagination.  Pornography is one of the most lucrative businesses at this point in time.  Group sexual activities are a fad in some sections of the society.  Couples are involved as well as young men and women.  These activities are taped as they are performed, then duplicated and sold.

As the angels warned the cities of  Sodom and Gomorrah, the angel of the Lord is warning us today: Jude 1:5 “I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. 1:7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.”
